Founded in 1995, GEVA was designed to provide the best of care and shelter for horses in need due to injury, age or any other misfortune, to be the best advocate for each individual horse and to be a bi-lingual vocational school to teach people how to work with horses in a safe, humane and confident manner.
GEVA also stresses the importance of the responsibilities inherent with ownership or caring for horses. We firmly believe that confidence in handling and being responsible for the well-being of a noble creature such as the horse will eliminate some of the negligence and abuse caused through unintentional ignorance. GEVA is a strong advocate for a comfortable retirement for many of the horses that have already served in one career, that they should not be expected to have a second career. We specialize in rehabilitation and a comfortable retirement, but also recognize those horses who excel in some kind of performance discipline, and help them to move on toward that goal.
GEVA is an all volunteer 501 (c)(3) sanctuary. All donations are most appreciated and go toward the welfare and maintenance of the horses at the farm.
