Freedom Hill Horse Rescue was established in 2004 as a way of saving neglected, abused and unwanted horses that are typically difficult to adopt. Many of these horses are older, have sustained injuries, or have developed chronic disease. While the horses are with us, they are used in programs for children, women’s wellness and scouts. Our horses provide middle and high school students the ability to learn the care and keeping of a large animal. Through these programs many gain greater self-confidence as well as empathy for others. After rehabilitation, we work to find the horses a forever home. Those that can not be adopted find a forever sanctuary at Freedom Hill.
