Linking Sanctuary Accrediting Organizations Around the World
GFAS brings new opportunities for global cooperation and mentoring, not only among sanctuaries themselves, but also among national and regional sanctuary accrediting bodies. GFAS is pleased to provide these links to other sanctuary accrediting organizations around the world. Additional regions are also in the development stages of forming such organizations, so check back for updates!

Pan African Sanctuary Alliance (PASA)
“PASA is committed to the conservation and care of African primates through the unique alliance of African sanctuaries. PASA sanctuaries were created over the last three decades to accommodate the staggering numbers of orphaned chimpanzees, gorillas, bonobos and other endangered primates in Africa.”
The Association of Sanctuaries
The Association of Sanctuaries (TAOS) has ceased operation. TAOS is delighted with the formation of Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS) and is confident that GFAS is carrying the sanctuary field to greater professional recognition and globalization. States Eileen McCarthy, former TAOS Board President: “I will feel a tremendous reward on behalf of animals in need everywhere in witnessing the international success of GFAS and its ability to take the sanctuary movement into the 21st century.” (If you are looking for specific content from the TAOS website, please contact
